Sheriff Leo E. McElrath III, a United
States Army veteran, began his Law
Enforcement career in July of 1972 as a
member of the Missouri State Highway
Patrol. He retired as a Sergeant in April
1999 after 27 years with the patrol. He
was elected to the office of Sheriff in
the fall of 2008. Sheriff McElrath works
diligently to provide a safe
environment for the residents and
visitors of Bollinger County.
